Psychonauts punching game help

Crack 18 memory vaults the one in Meat Circus does not count. Find and weave all 54 mental cobwebs in Agent Cruller's lab.

Simply put, collect all the related items. For lack of a better term, these depend on Raz being there at the right place and time to witness or do something, some can be missed if you progress the story too far.

These involve repeating a certain task over and over. Dimi 2 Nov, am. Soylent Robot 4 Sep, pm. I've gone to each area to ensure I have all of the psi cards I can't work out what to do. I'm so close but I finished all punching games in a single try even tho I played on a keyboard. It's not THAT hard. Hardest achievement: Math is Hard reason: Punching minigame fun game, but its pretty hard unless you have a very good reaction time.

Great guide, thank you! SneezyP 5 Sep, pm. An alternate way to get Look at those Pansies is at the second dog. Use levitation and jump around with it while sticking to the wall and it should trigger. Zel 19 Jul, pm. Anyone else have any trouble triggering the Wolpaw Says Thanks achievement? I'm able to trigger the cutscene and I sit through Vernon's entire speal, but I never receive the achievement. GeoLuz 1 May, pm. The doubly upgraded wrench works great on Chainblade in normal mode.

Didn't take a hit, although that didn't count for anything. Didn't even know about the skill point, was just wailing on Chainblade out of frustration with another part of the game. Not getting hit is just a matter of firepower. The Ryno II kills the Brawler before the announcer has finished the introduction.

Kill everything with just the wrench while not dying. Way out of my league, not even counting accidentally killing a monster when having to use the turret to blow open the door. There's no shame in not being able to do that, or think it's worth trying. Like flying a hundreds of visibombs down the long, tight, twisty tunnel in the first Ratchet and Clank to get the gold bolt.

Six doors needed to be blown open. I got three and am proud of it. As for the other three, life's too short. Kudos to those who did it but count me out. And that was for an actual gold bolt, not a skill point.

The strength of the first two Ratchet and Clank games was seeing the enemies up close so their looks could be appreciated. Closed in levels let the visuals be appreciated. When the enemies got too dangerous in "Going Commando" spider bots, visibombs, and remote controlled robots substituted, still letting the player see enemies up close. That's part of the reason boss monsters tend to be giants, so they can be fought from a distance and still give a visual show.

Psychonauts learned this lesson. The only enemies dangerous from a distance were the sword-unswallowers. There was a reason for that, but it was still aggravating. Especially the one covering the entrance to the Tunnel of Love. Why abuse the player there? As for the punching game in Basic Braining, I only beat the first round after learning a few things. Raz psychic fist has range. He can reach the first ring from the middle, and the second ring from the first.

Pounding the punch key caused Raz to throw combinations, slowing him down. Go back to the middle so Raz has the full face of the target to hit. My aim is terrible. Be sure to get the earlier targets because they last longer. Finally, don't bother trying past the first round.

No use at all. Bad mini-games are a pet peeve of mine. The punching game was a bit frustrating, but still fairly benign.

The only unpleasant aspect was Clem and Crystal's cheering, but the reward took care of that. Better than the fiery explosions in the hoverbike races in "Ratchet and Clank - Going Commando.

If you're in that arena, you have to push the left stick all the way to the right on the battle select screen. That assumes you unlocked it to begin with. I'm not saying this to brag although if someone would like to insist that I am, then nanny nanny boo boo ; my point is that even a person that would be me capable of getting all the skill points still can't beat it.

That's how tough it is. I usually succeed, but I could not, cannot beat that one. For all I know, it unlocks some even more evil challenge. All I do know, however, is that the prize is 90, bolts, which is 90, bolts I will very likely never get.

I suppose what I meant about the punching game being obnoxious is: obnoxious to beat in its entirety. In case I haven't been clear, I did manage to beat the entire challenge. While this does boost your rank by one, allowing you to achieve rank which I did or simply achieve rank while leaving something else out, it is of a value that is something beyond dubious.

Only a true masochist like me I almost wish I had those couple of hours back but really, what else would I have done with them? If it is rank , that would certainly render rank useless. All in all, I agree with you about the Hoverboard races and the similar ones in the Jak games. While many of the skill points are easily completed once you know what they are, I'll agree that some of them will more than test your patience. Congrats on all your accomplishments with the Ratchet and Clank series.

Some of those Skill Points really are about skill. I just tried the Wrench Expert Challenge. Had to do the "Dodge ChainBlade for 2 minutes" challenge to unlock it. Hardest part of that was getting used to the target lock. The direction didn't always seem right either. I'm spoiled by Raz' target lock tumble in Psychonauts. So, the Wrench Expert Challenge. Should have been hard but interesting. Back around the arena picking off the lead enemies. Using the active floor traps to help channel the bad guys.

Except Insomniac broke the combination of strafe mode and Comet Strike. Ratchet will be facing an enemy, but throw the wrench in a completely different direction. Lock-strafe mode and the wrench is broken even worse in Up Your Arsenal. In third person mode Ratchet apparently does auto-aiming with the Comet Strike, making it useless against moving enemies. They light up when all of that item has been collected on that level. Some of the info is for the whole level. Some is only for the current area.

The figment guides are invaluable. I used the one by Syonyx. Where do I find Ranger Cruller? Side Quest 1 Answer How to get big again in fred bonaparte's waterloo game??? General 1 Answer Need help get the cobweb in running against the bull? General 1 Answer? General 1 Answer.
