I recently got this game an it didn't work for me so i contacted support and i tried these 4 things in the same order I HAVE WIN 8 make sure you follow all these steps to make sure it works properly. Open up program files from my documents and then in program files find steam. Please wait while it finishes the update. I was having the same problem. I am running Windows 7 and this is what I did to have it work for me. You see that Steam icon shortcut on your desktop? Right click it, go to properties. Now go to compatibility tab. Under Privilege Level check Run this program as an administrator. I suggest exiting Steam before you do this but might work without having to exit completly.

That is awesome! I'm glad they fixed the Freedom shall prevail achievement; I've been going through, but had to jump around a few times so I haven't completed the levels in order.
