Page Image Quality And Size Image Quality and Size Together, image quality and size determine how much space each photograph occupies on the memory card. Larger, higher quality images can be printed at larger sizes but also require more memory, meaning that fewer such images can be stored on the memory card.
Page Image Quality Image Quality Controls used The camera supports the following image quality options listed in descending order by image quality and file size : Option Format Description Compressed raw data from the image sensor are saved directly to memory card. Choose for images that will be retouched on a computer. Images are compressed less than NORM, producing higher-quality images. You just have to focus them manually. Great tip. I had no idea you could install a split prisma focusing system. I'll check out the price. Is it easy to install yourself, or do you have to send it to a technician? The D40 is getting great reviews for the price. I have a mm f2. I use a mm e-series lens on my D50 and find it pretty easy to focus, it might be that i have good eyes but i find it pretty straight forward to focus and as people have said the green light can be used to confirm.
It is much easier using that manual lens compared to the kit lens and 50mm AF-D i have. Guess that's because it was designed for manual focus Simon - I find it interesting that you find the green light triggers over too wide a range - are you working with lenses with particularly slow or fast maximum apertures, or extremes of focal length?
I'm wondering if it might have different performance on different glass, as I've only tried it with a limited range various fast normal primes and a short macro.
Maybe you're testing its weaknesses a little more than I am? Katzeye is widely regarded as offering excellent replacement DSLR screens for manual focusing use.
